Wei was injured in a 2014 car accident. Wei’s MRI showed three lumbar disc abnormalities. However, diagnostic testing performed at the Los Angeles minimally Invasive Spine Institute showed that only 2 of these discs were causing Wei’s pain, allowing Dr. Rappard to limit the degree of surgery necessary to bring Wei relief. In February 2015 Wei underwent endoscopic discectomy at the L3/4 and L4/5 discs. Several weeks after surgery Wei noted nearly 100% pain relief.
